Isle of Arran & Loch Lomond
Scotland in autumn is one of the most beautiful times of year to visit, offering spectacular sights and views of the autumnal colours. The Isle of Arran offers stunning coastlines, beautiful villages along with a richness of history and culture. The island itself is only 19 miles long and only 10 miles in width; it is also one of the most southerly Scottish Islands. Brodick is the largest village on the Island offering visitors a selection of shops cafes and hotels. Sensational views can be seen from Brodick including Goatfell, Arran’s highest Mountain. Loch Lomond offers unique scenery and atmosphere which is enjoyed by a variety of visitors all year round. The Loch is the largest body of freshwater in Scotland. We will be taking a one hour cruise on Loch Lomond taking in the sights and live commentary as we sail.
Willow Bank Hotel Largs
This traditional hotel is located on the outskirts of Largs offering a warm welcome, excellent service along with comfortable basic accommodation. All rooms have private facilities, tea coffee making facilities, TV and telephone. This hotel does not have a lift; however it only has one floor above ground level.
We make our way to Largs with comfort stop in the historic spa town of Moffat, arriving at our hotel late afternoon.
Today we make our way to the Isle of Arran where you will enjoy a scenic drive on the Island, before having free time in Brodick.
After breakfast we will take the breathtaking scenic coastal route from Largs, Passing Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park, Greenock and the River Clyde. We will be stopping at Loch Lomond Shores situated at Balloch, which offers you a range of cafes and shops along with views over Loch Lomond. From here we will take the scenic route to Tarbet, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of Loch Lomond. After your cruise on Loch Lomond we will make our way back to the hotel.
Today we say goodbye and make our way home via the Ayrshire coastline with a stop in Dumfries. Arriving home late afternoon.
